Happy Birthday To Me.
(Belated)
This is (probably) for all the retards who didn't wish me despite all the social networking sites that eat up ur head reminding u about birthdays until u do something about it. Or just because I wanted to write about something. Either way, my birthday was surprising. And fun.
I got my hair straightened. (Cheers). Probably just to see what they look like-- anyway, I was surprised. Never knew they were that long. I was sorta nervous and scared about going to school with that hairstyle the next day....
At twelve, mom and dad were sleeping. Sigh. In my complete desperation to get the feel of my birthday, I cut a banana. Yeah, stupid, I know. Probably that's why I did it. I expected SOMEONE to call-- my sister, cousins, nayan(who btw had sms-ed me about some movie on hbo ten minutes back), ANYONE! But no one called. Other than mom, who probably woke up because of the light coming from my room. Sweet, she called and said : "Happy Birthday. Please go off to sleep now". Kudos.
So I went to school. The people in my bus were :-O but they didn't know it was my birthday. My bus friends were absent(grrrr), only Chandrika came. While walking to school, Shashank, Shivam and Saksham saw me. Funny reactions, and they ran inside the class and practically YELLED out about my hair. As a result, when I went to the class, I got a lot of attention. I could feel everyone staring at me and that psyched me out. I'm not saying I didn't see that coming, but it was too much. Aaaaaa!!! The main funny reactions were: "How much time did it take?", "Did any straighteners get lost in ur hair?","WTF Sakshi!", "Wig hai kya!!". I couldn't believe my ears when AS seriously came and asked me about hair straightening. He, being a guy(or so we think), was not expected to ask me this. :P
I'd been eating up my friends' heads for a birthday card, coz I wanted to have some memory of my abso-frikkin-lute weird class. They did it, alright. But they asked everyone to write "Happy Birthday Have a Blast" to bug me. They also(Namya's idea) emailed a lot of people to reply back to namya a birthday wish for me-- which was sorta the actual card. Tragically, I saw the actual card first coz we sat in the Shogun Lab in the first period, where I ended up checking my mail. I'm not complaining, I loved the idea.
Most of the gifts I got were covered in Pink. Thoughtful.
So anyway, I took Namya, Pragya and Iraj to my place. The reason I didn't get many people was because I didn't want to do the effort of desperately trying to entertain them. In the bus, though, I was wondering how I'd entertain them because Iraj was having a migrane, Pragya was all quiet(apparently, that's how she is in the bus) and Namya was sleepy. And I was trying to get them to talk. However, once they reached my house, they went quite mad. Trust me on that.
A little background on that. See, I'm a very untidy person. Now, I obviously had to clean up my room because of these people. I did sincerely try, only that towards the end I started getting irritated and chucked everything I didn't know where to put under my bed. Stupidly, I told them this part.
So once I got them inside my house(which was a amusing thing, really, Iraj somehow kept going in the opposite direction), and showed them my room, they went crazy. Iraj literally fell on the floor, looking under my bed and commenting on everything. Before I could stop him, Namya and Pragya opened my cupboards and starting looking for the so-called nerdy books. Cheers, they didn't find any. My mom came to ask about the food, stared at my friends for 2 minutes, and then spoke. On the lunch table, Namya and Pragya went babbling (and so did I), and kicking(ouch) but Iraj was all quiet(he's had bad experiences when he talks and eats ;)). Anyway, after the food, mom went downstairs to get some peace and we started talking. My phone was taken away from me a lot of times, and these three desperately tried to read and send smses. They caused some destruction too, alright- a bulb, my mobile, the camera. Iraj jumped on to my neighbours roof and they saw him. Damn.
We ended up having quite a lot of fun. We saw Bechare Zameen Par, made prank calls to people, sprayed each other with deodrants(that was bad). All my effort to clean my room were in vain coz they messed it up completely.
And now after writing this pretty long post, I'm bored and therefore abruptly ending this post. Au revoir.

Oh you know, my birthday was 2 days before our S.St Pre-Boards. I DID get a few calls. None around twelve. I didn't expect any either.
One of my really good friends called me up THREE times on my birthday and every time I expected her to wish me and every time she just had a question in S.St to ask. Then, almost 2 months later, one day, she tells me, "I forgot your birthday yaar!"
Ha!
I hope you liked my gift. I have lots more of the same waiting for you.
Oh and my birthday occurs on what is the most embarrassing day ever.
I feel left out on that day, because I'm probably the only person who's not getting laid.
No matter where I go to celebrate there are always people in the shadows making out. Sigh.
ouch, that's sad.
@sampoorna: that happened to me in sixth grade. only, i got no calls. i was so mad at everyone, specially namya, who was my only good friend at that point of time.
@anuj: thanks for the chocolate. i was surprised for 10 seconds and unable to process what had happened :P. and about ur bday, really, i know its sad, but sheesh, why make a fuss out of it? get over it- face it. nothing else u can do anyway. or u can feel happy that its a month before u're favourite day-- pi day.
@anonymous: who are u referring to anyway? and _who_ are u?
Really now,who's this 'anonymous'?
Grow up kiddo.
Anonymous is anonymous.
Hey belated Happy Birthday! Wish you tonnes of luck for the year ahead! :)
thanks! :)
Well shit, I had no idea you straightened your hair for your birthday; i just assumed it to be a random feminine desire.
Happy birthday!
My mom wouldn't let me straighten it otherwise. It was the only way I could straighten it! :P ANYWAY, I wanted to try it. Naturally, I won't be straightening my hair for a LONG time now. :)
